2025 JKA Pan-American Championships

Members of JKA NorCal traveled to Bogotá, Colombia, to participate in this year’s Panamerican Championships. Out of the seven competitors in attendance, we represented two countries (USA and Canada). For three of these competitors, this was their first experience at an international tournament. We also contributed one national team coach.

Overall, the JKA-USA team gave an extremely strong performance this year with finalists across seven of the eight adult categories. Leading to a total of six division medals, this was a historic high for the US team. Special congratulations to the women’s team for securing first place in both team kata and team kumite after extremely close matchups!

We’re also proud to announce that we have two medalists. Dojo founder Sensei Christina Foo placed second in women’s (61+) individual kata. Sammi Yeung placed first in women’s individual kata. Sammi was also a member of both women’s team kata and team kumite. Congratulations!
